SemPure Launches New Coconut Oil Lube

DALLASLarry Budow set out on a mission a few months ago. After his wife’s favorite body oils doubled in price seemingly overnight, he decided he could make his own version, and do it better.

“The winters are very cold and dry here in Texas, and my wife used the same oil to moisturize her skin for years,” Budow told AVN. “When she complained about the price increase, I looked at the ingredients on the bottle and knew I could do it.”

Budow then sent for samples of various types of coconut oil from the Philippines and set out to find a version that would be soluble on the skin but not get chunky in the container.

Budow said his experimentation paid off, and just eight weeks ago he bottled his first batch of SemPure. But rather than just use it as a skin moisturizer, Budow is also marketing it as a 100 percent coconut oil that stays in a liquid state at room temperature.

“Basically we have invented a new state of coconut oil, and it’s more viscous than regular coconut oil, which makes it great to use as a lube,” Budow said.

SemPure is packaged in two types of bottles: A clinician’s for locations like Ann’s Health Food Center and Market stores in Texas, and a provocative one for adult boutiques such as Sara’s Secret and Condoms to Go.

The first batches were bottled only eight weeks ago, and have only a faint odor of coconut that dissipates within a few minutes once on the skin, and no taste to speak of.

SemPure is available in 1- and 4-ounce bottles.
