CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Nearly 15 years after setting a high-standard in sexual education videos with the Better Sex video series, the Sinclair Institute recently has released its Better Sex Sexplorations video series, now in a three-DVD and 13-track original soundtrack CD box set.
Developed with participation from a panel of experts (featured throughout the film) to insure accurate information, the program is an explicit sex-ed guide for adults that covers everything from anatomy to fantasy role playing.
Real-life couples speak about their intimate experiences and practice demonstrations covering advanced sexual techniques and positions (Vol. 1), sex secrets and tips (Vol. 2), and erotic sex play and beyond (Vol. 3). Pop-up screens give viewers quick sex facts and highlight products used in the programs, including Natural Contours’ novelty items and the institute’s Better Sex Synergy Pleasure System massager. Additionally, the series addresses fantasy role playing with segments on sex in an airplane, in a public restroom, in a car wash, and in a jail cell. Behind-the-scenes programs on each volume show how Mark Schoen, a human sexuality expert and director of sex education at the Sinclair Institute, created the series.
“We really focused on an overall facelift for the series, because as a society, things have changed in the past 10 years—the second generation of this series reflects that,” says Susan Yeager Montani, Sinclair’s director of wholesale operations.
An unusual in the making of adult or education films was the use of an advanced film-editing program, and the production of the set has surpassed nearly any of its kind: a million-dollar production budget.
Says Schoen, “We used Panasonic’s DVC Pro cameras and the AVID DS editing system because we wanted the highest quality program for our viewers.”
