Rabbit Replaced in ‘Sex and the City’

NEW YORK - According to the New York Post, the cameo the Rabbit Pearl vibrator made on HBO's "Sex and the City" will not be repeated in the movie based on the TV series.

The Post reported that Vibratex's Rabbit Pearl has been replaced by lingerie and luxury vibes manufactured by Myla London. A Myla London representative told AVN Novelty Business magazine Friday that she could not confirm or deny the report.

According to Ian Denchasy of Freddy and Eddy, Vibratex and retailers saw a significant increase in Rabbit sales after the vibrator was featured on "Sex and the City."

"Sales went through the roof," he said. "The same thing happened when the Love Swing appeared."

Stephanie Volker, Vibratex's director of sales and marketing, said the success that followed the Rabbit Pearl's TV appearance extended to other toys.

"After the Vibratex Rabbit Pearl was featured on ‘Sex and the City,' rabbits did what rabbits are known for doing," she said. "Every rabbit, bunny and jack toy out there is based on the Rabbit Pearl and its success following that appearance."

The movie is scheduled to be released on May 30, 2008.
