Pulse and Cocktails Billboards Pulled

NEWCASTLE, England - Roadside signs for the Pulse and Cocktails sex store were removed after the store breached the first condition of its license by posting two billboards.

"We have 23 stores nationwide, and we run similar billboards at the majority of these locations," a spokesman for the retailer said. "We were totally unaware we were in breach of any license conditions, and as a result of this coming to our attention and in order to keep the peace, we instructed for these billboards to come down as soon as possible."

The license condition Pulse and Cocktails reportedly breached "precludes any form of notice, sign or advertisement in connection with the business anywhere other than on the shop units."

"[The signs] were a clear distraction for drivers and wholly unsuitable for children," an opponent of the signs said. "They weren't the sort of thing parents would want their youngsters exposed to. Sex shops aren't illegal, but it's important they keep to the conditions of their license. They exist for a reason."
