LONGMONT, Colo. - A 33-year-old man is facing several charges, including impersonating an officer, after claiming to be a member of the local police department and demanding free videos.
Drew Libby was arrested last week and charged with impersonating an officer, possession of an illegal weapon and possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to the Pretoria News.
Police said Libby entered an adult novelty shop on three occasions and demanded free X-rated videos so he could check for underage performers. Though he showed a badge and left a business card stating he was with the Longmont Police "age verification unit," he was unsuccessful in his attempts. Longmont Police representatives said no such unit exists in their department.
Libby was identified after a police officer and tipsters recognized him in a photo taken from the store's surveillance camera.
