MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Pa. - A Montgomery County emergency dispatch supervisor was fired as a result of pictures taken at a holiday party held at a 911 call center.
Photos from the on-the-job party, which involved gag gifts such as adult toys, bottles of liquor and boxes of beer, also led to disciplinary action for as many as six emergency dispatchers.
"I think they're extremely embarrassing. We're mortified," said John Corcoran, director of communications for Montgomery County. "The depictions could lead someone to conclude that alcohol was being consumed, and that undermines public confidence in the public safety system. That's extremely serious, and we take it very seriously, and we immediately had to establish that that didn't actually occur."
Officials said the photos were taken Dec. 22 during working hours.
While county officials said their investigation found that nobody consumed alcohol consumption at the party, they said possessing alcohol on county property is a violation of county policy.
