CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – The mayor of Christchurch is off the hot seat after a photo of him presenting a sex toy to a young woman was removed from the website where it was published.
A picture of Mayor Bob Parker and the winner of the prize was initially posted at Slynkey.com, which features a section for reviews of dildos, bondage cuffs, and erotic fiction.
Parker, who briefly attended the website’s second anniversary party and was not aware that he would be presenting the prize, handed a pink vibrator to one of the guests.
“It was a lot of fun, and there was one prize of a dubious nature, and I was not even aware I was going to be presenting the prize,” Parker said. “I am glad the photograph is no longer there. No harm was intended, but I would much rather I was not put in a compromising position and then someone took a photograph and exhibited it. It was perhaps a lapse in taste and judgment by the designer of the site.”
Slynkey.com representatives said the picture was removed from the website because it did not represent the event.
