Peekay Honored With Best of Western Washington Award

AUBURN, Wash.—Peekay Inc.’s Lovers lingerie retail store was recently honored with the Best of Western Washington award. Customers voted Lovers as Best Lingerie store for KING 5 News' Best of Western Washington contest.

Peekay Inc. founder Phyllis Heppenstall said, "We are delighted and excited to receive this prestigious award and acknowledgement. We have been serving our customers here in the Pacific Northwest for over 28 years. Our staff is the greatest, our selections unmatched. It is so nice to see that our customers agree. We want to thank each and everyone who voted for Lovers."

Peekay was founded in 1981 with the first three Lovers Package retail stores opening within 14 months. In 1998, an opportunity to purchase a 15,000-square-foot, three-floor building located in Tukwila, adjacent to one of the busiest shopping malls in the nation, arose which became the ultra successful Amour on the Boulevard, a luxurious retail store with chandeliers and bubbling fountains which sells everything from erotic artwork to furniture, shoes to club wear and silks, satins and leather. With the proximity to the airport, Amour boasts customers from around the country. The 25-year anniversary celebration (2006) provided the company a re-branding opportunity: Lovers Package stores became Lovers. The big giant in Tukwila became the flagship store. To date, the Puget Sound area of Washington State now has 20 Lovers locations.

Peekay Inc. has expanded their store count to 12 stores in California under the names A Touch of Romance and Condom Revolution. The company has almost 300 employees, both part-time and full-time.
