VALENCIA, Calif. - Jody Flood is a professional baker who has been in business for herself since 2006. Despite having a G-rated website, she isn't bashful when it comes to her Naughty Cakes.
Flood's Naughty Cakes range from those shaped like penises-cream filled, of course- bustiers, bras and panties, or just about anything her customers can dream up. She says she's done it all, from baby showers to adult parties and events, and she welcomes custom orders.
"I make every order from scratch, providing my clients with different options for whatever the theme may be," she says. "I find that my product is well beyond my competitors in taste and in design while remaining whimsical and fun. The only obstacle in my market may be my own ego. If I can believe in it, I can achieve it!"
Flood has a standard line of bachelor- and bachelorette-party cakes, all of which are customized to the needs of her customers and can be delivered to doorsteps nationwide.
"I take pride in custom-designing themes for all occasions," she says. "Some people were born with a silver spoon in their mouth. I was born with a mixing spoon in mine . I've been cracking eggs, measuring flour and stirring up concoctions with my mother, Sharron, from an early age."
After college, Flood went on to serve time in the military, where she traveled the world cooking up new ideas and putting new twists on her family's favorite recipes.
"My passion for food has led me around the globe," she explains. "I've tickled taste buds abroad with hot chilis and decadent dark chocolates from Central and South America and learned how to incorporate spices from the Far East."
Flood says she uses only the freshest ingredients in her baked goods, which are organic and vegan-friendly, per the customers request.
"Vanilla and chocolate are always in fashion and a staple that I rely on," she says. "But my red velvet cake inspired by the South is sure to leave an impression on anyone who tastes it. I can also do sugar-free, as well as dairy- and gluten-free cakes on request."
