PHS International Releases Lead-Free Ball Weights

PHOENIX - Preparing for the ban of lead as a component in the manufacture of weights, PHS International has released lead-free weights for its PLAY! and M2M product lines.

"Lead toys will be banned in the near future, and we chose to jump ahead and to eliminate it from our toys now," Vice President Chuck Harnish said. "With our customers' safety our No. 1 priority, we decided to look elsewhere for our weights, and were able to source our plated steel weights that are 100 percent lead-free."

The ball weights, typically used for scrotum stretching and nipple clamps, are in stock and being shipped now.

After reading an article about the possibility of lead being banned in weights and causing contamination of rivers and streams, PHS took action, Harnish said.

"Most weights out there are made from lead and are harmful to those who use them," he added. "We feature skin-safe, non-allergenic nitrile and elastomer cock rings, and we are the only manufacturer of nitrile anal toys."

Harnish said sales of the lead-free weights have exceeded the company's expectations, especially the 8- and 10-ounce weights. Because of this success, he said, PHS is looking forward to adding heavier lead-free weights with "sleek shapes and funky styles."

"We have always been, and will continue to be, committed to safety in our products," he said. "Our materials are skin-safe, phthalate-free and, of course, lead-free. Those elements are vital points when it comes to our product development."
