PERRYSBURG, Ohio - Glow Industries, makers of the popular Don Wands Glass Pleasure Wands line, is sponsoring its first sporting event. The First Annual Don Wands Vixen Volleyball Tournament will be hosted by the Northaven Resort, a premier adult-only, clothing-optional resort in Brooklyn, Mich., on Saturday August 9, 2008.
Teams of two women and three men will compete in the volleyball tournament to win a custom-made Don Wands glass trophy and the championship title for a year. The sponsorship is seen as great way to bring the brand and product "to the consumers where they love to play," as stated in company press materials.
Upon joining Glow nine months ago, marketing manager Chuck Ames began researching the market and found that their products fit well with lifestylers. He told AVN Novelty Business he found out about Northaven "through networking with local adult lifestyle clubs and social clubs ... Then, [resort representatives] contacted people they knew about our credibility. One of people they spoke with had met me at a party, and the woman just went on and on about the products and the customer satisfaction. That opened the door for us."
This event is just one of many planned sponsored events, Ames told ANB. Past events include the 2008 Miss Nude Northaven, where Ames and his wife were judges and entrants received a gift bag which included toys. The company is also sponsoring the 2008 Naughtee Bi Nature HoeDown on August 23 in Perrysburg, Ohio.
