LONDON - Manufacturer Tabooboo focuses on selling adult novelties in a new way: vending machines.
The manufacturer supplies erotic goods - mainly, small toys and lubricants - through vending machines across Europe.
"We have machines in a variety of cool places, such as bars, clubs, stores, hair salons and even a few gyms," founder Alan Lucas told AVN Novelty Business, describing the customers as design- and fashion-literate.
The current best-seller is the Secret Lippy, he said, adding that people buy at the vending machines for three reasons: "sex, fun and gifts."
Lucas said the company is enjoying success throughout Europe, especially in Italy, where they seem to be crazy about the vending machines and the Tabooboo brand. However, the company is seeking a business with the expertise and resources to duplicate that success the United States.
"We are currently looking for a distributor or licensee to take the brand and concept, and make it a success there," Lucas said. "We have had plenty of inquiries from venues and stores, but we just don't have the resources to take on the operational side of this in the States.
"We have a great brand. We would like to now work with a United States business partner who can see the potential for the brand there."
