Oh technology, how we loathe you sometimes. An issue with the email server for the [email protected] address was discovered this weekat AVN Media Network, meaning some pre-nominations for the second annual “O” Awards might not have been received if they were sent prior to Tuesday, June 22.
AVN Media Network’s IT department explained rather thoroughly what went wrong with the server, but since we like the word “glitch,” and never seem to be able to use that word enough, that’s the explanation we heard.
“The majority of all pre-nominations sent to the [email protected] address and from the [email protected] address have been received without any issues, but we want to be on the safe side,” said Sherri L. Shaulis, senior editor of pleasure products for AVN. “I would rather we deal with pre-nomination emails in duplicate and triplicate as opposed to miss out on a product or company not bring considered because the email was never received.”
To that end, AVN Media Network is asking that anyone who submitted a pre-nomination for the second annual “O” Awards to the [email protected] email address either resend that email or submit a new one to [email protected].
The “O” Awards honor outstanding products, companies and professionals in the adult pleasure product industry. The inaugural event, held in 2009 in conjunction with the AVN Novelty Expo (ANE), saw 14 awards handed out to manufacturers, designers, distributors, retailers and individuals for exceptional products and service. This year, AVN Novelty Expo was integrated into The AVN Show, an industry-wide B2B event that incorporates all of the aspects of ANE into an even larger exhibit space. The AVN Show takes place Aug. 5-8 at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla., with the 2010 “O” Awards ceremony set for the evening of Aug. 7 at the hotel.
