New Bruno Banani Line Uses Biophyl

HAMM, Germany - The German underwear brand Bruno Banani has launched a new line featuring the eco-friendly Biophyl fabric.

The new Jump&Run brand features bold colors and daring cuts, as well as unusual details like embroidering and rhinestones. Company officials said the Biophyl fabric - a polyester material produced by Germany's Händel + Diller - uses yarns based on a special polymer from DuPont that holds color better, is softer, and has better stretch and recovery capabilities.

Biophyl is also eco-friendly, in that it uses less petroleum than other polyester fabrics and production of the material results in up to a 63 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions when compared to production of nylon, which is often used in underwear lines.
