Natural Contours, innovators of stylish and discreet personal massagers and products for women, is joining the fight against breast cancer by launching their Euro-designed Petite Pink Ribbon.
Searching for a way to thank the legions of women who have purchased and supported their products, Natural Contours chose Breast Cancer Action (BCAction.org). This national grassroots education and advocacy organization states that they work to ensure that people have access to more effective and less toxic treatments and that communities are protected from involuntary toxin exposure that contributes to breast cancer.
Natural Contours is donating 10 percent of its proceeds to BCA in the United States. Charities that are chosen for donations overseas will be posted on Natural-Contours.com. The Petite Pink Ribbon will be launched in October in honor of the people affected by breast cancer. It will be available for retail sales at their site, other leading sites and catalogs.
Candice Royalle, Natural Contours co-founder and director of marketing created products that are Phthalate-free. She admires Breast Cancer Action's policy, stating, "In researching charities and foundations. I was particularly impressed with their ‘Think Before You Pink' program that highlights ‘pinkwashers' - companies that purport to care about breast cancer by promoting a pink ribbon campaign, but manufacture products that are linked to the disease."
Natural Contours also felt their products had the potential to address some of the more personal aspects of this cancer. "Breast cancer can have a big impact on a woman's intimate life," explained Royalle. "Between the effects various treatments may have on hormones and desire, and the fact that a woman's breasts can play a significant role in her sexual identity, the Petite Pink Ribbon is a way to give women permission to continue to think of themselves as sexual beings. It's like saying, ‘You're still sexually alive, and here's a little something extra to help you stay that way!'"
