TORONTO - Lover's Choice has named the Fairvilla store in Cape Canaveral, Fla., the winner of its "Most Romantic Store in America" contest.
Fairvilla topped a field of more than 750 retailers to win the $2,500 grand prize. The Cape Canaveral store will have its status as "The Lover's Choice for Most Romantic Store in America" advertised on a local billboard.
Condom World won the $1,000 second-place prize, Stag Shop (Hamilton) received $500 for its third-place finish.
Randy Hughes, CEO and president of Lover's Choice, thanked the contest participants at the International Lingerie Show in Las Vegas.
"We over doubled the number of retailers participating in the contest," he said, "and we are striving to double the number of stores for Valentine's Day 2009."
