Love Boutique Offers Safe Solution for Shoppers with Children

BRISBANE, Australia – The Little By Little Adult Concept store is courting an unexpected audience: customers with kids. Offering coloring books and babysitting services to occupy tots toted into the store by their browsing parents, the shop is also attracting unwanted attention.

Two different complaints have been lodged with the city council, thereby requiring the business to "show reason" for its continued existence. Little By Little is located near a church, a drugstore, and a dentist's office.

Owner Monica Bekkers doesn't understand the fuss. "I must be clear," she told the Daily Telegraph. "I am not telling people to bring their kids in and show them the sex toys. I am saying if you need to have your child with you, we can entertain them. It only takes a child eight minutes to die in a hot car, and I don't see the harm in letting your child sit in our shop and color while mum or dad look about."

The store's setup relegates novelties and DVDs to the back, while lingerie is displayed up front. Renata Sant, a mother of four, told the Telegraph she would bring her children into Little By Little. "It is a discreet shop," she said.

The pastor of the neighboring New Life Lutheran Church doesn't agree. "It is a family shopping center and that isn't the right place for a sex shop," Noel Burton told reporters. "But if the shop was moved to a semi-industrial area, we wouldn't have a problem."
