RIO DE JANEIRO – Brazilian lingerie label Lindelucy introduced a collection of intimate apparel with an unusual feature-each piece is implanted with a Global Positioning System tracking device.
Designer Lucia Iorio told Agence France-Presse that the set, called "Find Me If You Can," represents "a wink to women and a challenge to men, because even if she gives him the password to her GPS, she can always turn it off. She can be found only if she wants to."
While some critics have assailed the sexy set as a 21st century chastity belt, Iorio says her design has a more practical application, too. "Some women are now interested in buying it for protection," she says, noting that Brazil's high crime rate makes the GPS-equipped undies a security measure.
However, the cash to purchase the set may be more than most women can locate, even if aided by GPS: depending on the sophistication of the tracking unit, the lingerie retails from $800 to $1,100.
