Last Live 'Talk Sex' to Air Sunday

NEW YORK - Addressing rumors that Oxygen's "Talk Sex" call-in show with colorful educator Sue Johanson has been canceled, California Exotic Novelties told ANB the show is closing its run and has not been canceled.

Sources from Talk Sex Productions said Johanson, 77, did not want to do the weekly show anymore and will run specials throughout the year.

"Nearly six years ago, there wasn't nearly as much open dialogue about human sexuality available on television," Johanson said. "Oxygen had the courage to air ‘Talk Sex,' and I'm thrilled it worked out so well. It has been a dream come true. Rest assured, I'm not giving up on sex! I will continue talking sex to college and university students and plan to do specials on television and radio."

Talk Sex Productions said the show will go into syndication when Oxygen's exclusivity expires.

"There will be specials, syndication, and a strong online presence," said Al Bloom, director of marketing for California Exotic Novelties. "Sue lives on! Sue is one of our most treasured partners. We fully understand the stress of a weekly call-in show, and respect her decision to slow down a bit. We wish her well, and look forward to a continuing relationship based on her input and wisdom."

Bloom said Cal Exotics will continue to add to Johanson's line of novelties.

Johanson's final show will count down the year's top 10 sex toys Sunday at midnight, Eastern and Pacific time.
