BEVERLY HILLS, Calif.—LELO and Pico Bong representatives invited retailers and distributors to join them Tuesday in the luxurious SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., on the pretense of sharing sales tips to increase their Q4 and holiday sales. While there was plenty of valuable information shared, the manufacturer also threw in a few surprises, including the official debut of four new products.
The day-long event, which had a James Bond/Mission Impossible theme, started with a recorded message from CEO Miroslav Slavic, who noted that LELO provides “products you already want to have and more you will want to have.”
LELO, which marks its 11th anniversary this year, set out to bring a “level of pleasure to all above all pleasure,” explained Donna Faro, USA director of sales and marketing for LELO.
“Many brands and speak about luxury, but can they provide the quality product,” she asked the audience.
The morning progressed with LELO Sales Executives Pat Manginelli, Eliane M. Said and others walking the audience through the features and top selling points of the existing LELO products lineup, including the Insignia and Luxe collections, before presenting the Ora 2 and the Luna Smart Bead.
Eric Rowland, sales executive noted that as well as the Ora did for the company, they expect the Ora 2 to be even more well received.
“The Ora 2 is going to be intense,” he said, explaining that the Ora 2 will feature a more assertive “tongue” that protrudes more than the original and has a stainless steel ball bearing.
Additionally, the Ora 2 is USB rechargeable and more powerful. The Ora 2 will also come equipped with LELO’s patented Sense Motion technology.
“This is something you will want to bear down on, because when you push harder, it gets stronger,” he said.
The Luna Smart Bead also comes equipped with Sense Touch technology and will come with five vibrational guided routines. With each use, the Luna Smart Bead will automatically update and personalize the routine for the user. The Smart Bead is waterproof and is powered by a single AAA battery. A memory chip in the Smart Bead makes it an intelligent toy that memorizes the last routine performed and picked up from there when it’s turned on again, even when the battery is replaced.
The morning finished with one final surprise—the debut of the Pino, a couples and men’s product.
The Pino is a vibrating couples ring that resembles a modified Tor and Tor 2 from the manufacturer, but the piece is packaged with cufflinks and a money clip and a box that makes it more of a business presentation.
“We have already made a major media push for this and we believe it will be the best selling product in the entire industry in Q4,” Faro said. “We are going after a market like this industry has never gone after before.”
The packaging goes straight to heart of gift buying, she added, and will take the Pino and the industry as a whole to a time where “giving a gift like a pleasure object has become extremely mainstream and appropriate.”
“This is where our company is headed,” she continued. “We want to add more value to a pleasure product purchase and attract a customer who may not have visited our stores before.”
The afternoon session continued with another product announcement, this time under the Pico Bong umbrella. The Transformer is a double-ended massager that measures 18 inches long. Available in black and yellow, a new color for Pico Bong, the Transformer is billed as “a million sex toys in one,” since the connecting section between the oversized bullet vibes at either end is rigid and posable.
The rechargeable massager also comes equipped with several functions and speeds.
All of the new products are either available for shipment now, or will be in the coming weeks, and will be in stores in plenty of time for the Q4 and holiday selling seasons.
