THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - Kama Sutra, a leading manufacturer of personal care and intimacy products, was named one of the leading vendors by Grocery Headquarters, a trade magazine for the grocery industry.
The magazine named the company in the Contraceptives-Female category in its "2009 State of the Industry" issue.
"Everyone here at Kama Sutra was delighted to find out that we ranked among the top vendors in the country in this category," said Beverly Pollington Sirjani, vice president of Kama Sutra. "Our strategy has been, and will continue to be, to present a small line of our best sellers into the grocery channel while supporting our full line of products through the gift and specialty stores. We believe that this opens our products to a wider group of customers who will then seek out more of our products in the specialty/adult stores. We are glad to see this recognition for all the recent changes we have made to reposition and revitalize the brand."
The Kama Sutra company was founded in 1969 by partners Joe Bolstad and Hal Hauser. Their initial product, Original Oil of Love, is still one of their best sellers. Kama Sutra is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
