Jimmyjane’s Form 2 wins IDEA Award

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.—form 2, the best-selling waterproof rechargeable vibrator designed by Yves Béhar of fuseproject and Ethan Imboden of Jimmyjane, has been awarded the prestigious International Design Excellence Award from Fast Company and the Industrial Designers Society of America.

This achievement marks the fourth IDEA award for Jimmyjane. The company was previously honored for their ember Natural Massage Oil Candles (2007), form 6 Waterproof Rechargeable Vibrator (2008), and contour Ceramic Massage Stones (2009).

This year’s competition received the most entries since it began 30 years ago. Submissions came from 29 countries and awards spanned the design spectrum from technology to entertainment to ecodesign. Jimmyjane remains the only company in the sexual products industry to ever receive an IDEA Award.

“We believe that if anything should be beautifully designed and made, it’s the products that engage our sexuality,” said Imboden, founder and chief creative of Jimmyjane. “Jimmyjane and fuseproject pushed this theory even further with form 2, and the response from our customers—and now the design community—is unprecedented.”

This year’s winners also include noted design innovators from other product categories such as Nike, Bose and Herman Miller. You can read more about the form 2 IDEA Award at FastCoDesign.com/idea-2010/jimmyjane-form2.
