TULSA, Okla. – A judge who was jailed for using a penis pump on the bench was arrested again last week, this time on the suspicion of driving under the influence.
Judge Donald D. Thompson served on the bench for 23 years until he retired in 2004, and was convicted on four counts of indecent exposure in 2006. Prosecutors alleged that he used a penis pump during four trials that took place in 2002 and 2003, and a court reporter testified that he had exposed himself at least 15 times between 2001 and 2003.
Though Thompson claimed the pump was a gag gift he'd received from a longtime friend and denied using it during trials, he was convicted and served approximately 20 months of a four-year prison term. Upon his release in April, he was required to register as a sex offender and was disbarred.
Of the new allegations, Thompson's attorney denies them. "This man has been through an incredible test of challenges in his life that have provoked anxiety and depression," says lawyer Clark Brewster. "He is struggling mightily with the pressures he's had to deal with for a number of years."
