LAS VEGAS—As the twice-annual International Lingerie Show moved into its final day at the convention center inside the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, retailers and wholesale buyers roamed the show floor in search of new apparel, toys and other pleasure products they might have missed on Monday and Tuesday. And there was indeed a lot to take in.
Electric Lingerie is stressing value in its offerings, according to International Sales Manager Jordan Weiser. The company's branded gläs sex toys offer "the best quality at the best prices," according to Weiser, who pointed out tempered-glass phallic and stylized insertables. The company's three-month-old Blue Line C&B Gear includes rings, ball stretchers and a prostate massager, complementing the Blue Line men's underwear in spandex and mesh. Electric Lingerie also has added nine new Hustler-branded Fundies novelty men's underwear styles, bringing the total of designs to 18.
Herbal supplement GoldReallas is in the first year of a national push, according to sales rep Carmen Hester, and is making its first appearance at ILS. The gold capsule is available in single and double blister packs, and 12-capsule bottles. "We're available across the country. We're in Castle Megastores, with more chains to come."
Xgen Products had June 2003 Playboy Playmate Tailor James making a promotional appearance in the booth. Company sales rep Chris Lerner told AVN that the company is introducing 22 new styles in the Lapdance dancewear/lingerie line, including several in neon colors.
Mark Espinosa at Pleasure Works said the company is introducing longer dildos "for deeper penetration," and is reformulating their lubes to be glycerin and paraben free. They are also introducing holiday scents to their Rub Me massage bars, which liquefy into massage oil on skin contact. The new scents are Cinnamon Bun, Sugar Cookie, Candy Cane, and Hot Apple Cider.
Coquette Lingerie Public Relations Manager Erin Sue showed new designs for spring and summer "with vintage lace and soft cups, that's very in right now." The new collection includes bustiers, baby dolls, chemises and sheer dresses for intimate wear, including items with blue highlights good for brides. She pointed out the new Spellbound and Lovebound collection of corsets and bustiers, which show the Fifty Shades influence but are "very feminine." Sizes range from petite to 1X-2X. with ribbon tie backs and gray double sashes that can be wrapped around the waist and also used as wrist restraints. "Which is a fun feature, but it's not attached, so you don't have to use it," she explained.
Fur-trimmed and red-sequined black baby dolls are available for end-of-year holiday selling. "You can wear it all year around, but it’s a higher-fashion, edgier look," Sue said. "We've added a lot more detail in our holiday collection, so you'll see more rhinestones and lace. Our designers wanted to make it more versatile, so you have traditional colors of the holidays, but you can wear them any time. The black you can wear any time of the year."
Coquette is also introducing a new goji-berry-scented lingerie hand-wash "that is a soak product, so you do not have to rinse it," Sue said.
The International Lingerie Show concluded Wednesday. The next ILS is scheduled to return April 10-13, 2013, to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Admission is restricted to qualified retail participants.
