Good Vibes for GVA?

SAN FRANCISCO - It looks like two industry powerhouses may be getting extremely cozy in the very near future. Adult-novelty retailer/manufacturer/distributor Good Vibrations and distributor GVA-TWN are in talks about a partnership that the companies say would help Good Vibrations expand with retail stores in new markets.

"We are going to use our combined resources to expand the brand by opening more store locations throughout the country," GVA-TWN Chief Operating Officer Joel Kaminsky

told AVN Novelty Business magazine. "Good Vibrations' sex-positivity, community outreach and extensive event planning, as well as their commitment to sexual education in the community, will put us light-years ahead in further developing our marketing to women and couples of all genders."

Kaminsky said the acquisition talks began with a letter from Good Vibrations about investment opportunities. He said his company "realized acquisition was possible and it's a perfect fit for both organizations."

According to a Good Vibrations press release, company officials agree.

"This new relationship will allow rapid expansion of Good Vibrations retail stores into new markets, a step both companies agree will help build the Good Vibrations unique heritage brand into a national presence," the company said.

Though details of the deal have yet to be finalized, Good Vibrations' Senior Buyer, Coyote Days, told AVN Novelty Business that she's excited about the prospect of the merger. "I'm thrilled to become part of the GVA family of companies. I feel that we compliment each other and I'm excited for our future."

Kaminsky said the acquisition also would provide Good Vibrations added financial stability, greater resources, Web support and access to a multimillion-dollar inventory of products.

GVA-TWN has been an adult-industry mainstay since the 1960s; Good Vibrations celebrated its 30th anniversary this year.
