SAN FRANCISCO—Good Vibrations, the trusted San Francisco-based adult retailer, gave generosity a head start when they kicked off their partnership and promotion with the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) in mid-September. Good Vibrations shoppers have responded with enthusiasm to the invitation to contribute to NBCC as part of their corporate giving initiative, GiVe.
Good Vibrations partnered with six top vendors to help inspire generosity that benefits everyone. When customers purchase any of the select products, 10 percent of proceeds goes to NBCC, and the choices are exciting: the Toyfriend Starlet, Jimmyjane Form 3 and Form 4, Rocks-Off Groovy Chick, OhMiBod Better Than Chocolate, LELO Siri and Gigi, and GV Wholesale’s Butterfly Kiss, all in pink. Online shoppers can see the selections on the GiVe Partner page, and choose to make an additional gift if they choose.
“The idea of working with our vendors to make a difference was so natural, and everyone was delighted to participate. We just couldn’t wait for October to offer these high quality, ecorotic items in a way that actually affects positive change. And that makes everyone feel good,” said Senior Buyer Coyote Days.
Founded in 1991, the National Breast Cancer Coalition is a national grassroots organization whose mission is to end breast cancer by focusing on three main goals:
Research: Increasing appropriations for high-quality, peer-review research and working within the scientific community to focus research on prevention and finding a cure
Access: Increasing access for all women to high-quality treatment and care, as well as breast cancer clinical trials
Influence: Increasing the influence of women living with breast cancer and other breast cancer activists in the decision making that impacts all issues surrounding breast cancer
Since 1991, the mission of the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) has been to end breast cancer through action and advocacy. Now, NBCC has set a deadline: Breast Cancer Deadline 2020 – the end of breast cancer by Jan. 1, 2020. Breast Cancer Deadline 2020 brings together unprecedented collaborations among scientists, visionaries, and advocates to catalyze, plan and implement work in two major areas: prevention and saving lives. NBCC links hundreds of organizations and tens of thousands of individuals into a dynamic, diverse coalition to achieve its goals and to give breast cancer a meaningful voice inWashington,D.C., and state capitals, in laboratories and health care institutions, and in local communities everywhere.
The Good Vibrations-NBCC nonprofit partnership highlights Good Vibrations’ longstanding commitment to women’s health and well-being.
Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen said, "We're especially excited that this organization's terrific work includes advocacy training so that women themselves be such a powerful influence for fighting breast cancer. Just as Good Vibrations' focus has always been empowering women to be the true experts about their own sexuality, NBCC makes sure women's voices and experience are central to this critical health issue."
