REDONDO BEACH, Calif. - Condom manufacturer Australian Therapeutic Supplies, Inc., parent company of Four Seasons Condoms, has released a new type of condom fittingly named "Quickie." The innovative prophylactic is intended to aid in the ease of application while ensuring the condom rolls on correctly, thus reducing the risk of cross infection and pregnancy.
An instructional video is available online to quickly demonstrate how to apply the Quickie correctly.
Four Seasons president, Laurence Fazzari, said it is an ongoing endeavor to improve success rates of condoms under typical use conditions. Their latest result: Four Seasons' Quickie is said to ensure the condom is rolled on fast and correctly the first time, every time.
"This condom has been well-accepted by government health departments since its launch in the U.S.A., with numerous divisions placing orders ranging from 1,000 to 65,000 condoms," Fazzari said. "[There have also been] deals being negotiated on larger orders of up to 500,000 to some state departments. This means that the sampling at consumer level is happening; now it's time to drive the retail sales to benefit our commercial customers."
Quickie condoms feature a thin tape applicator rolled into the condom that clearly defines the correct side up for the wearer. Fazzari said putting a condom on correctly greatly assists in the prevention of it being upside down, which can result in a potential risk for transmitting STDs or pregnancy.
In the demonstration video, an attractive Four Seasons model dressed as a nurse demonstrates that after placing the Quickie condom on top of the penis, the tape applicator is simply pulled down and away to fully unroll the entire condom.
Quickie is based on Four Season's Nude Ultra Thin condom, which is made of Microfine latex and, according to Fazzari, feels so natural it's like not wearing a condom at all.
Australian Therapeutic Supplies established Four Seasons Condoms in 1987 and has since grown its line to include 12 varieties of FDA-approved condoms, which are available in three sizes (tighter fitting, regular, and large). Quickie Condoms are the first variety in their two decades of operation to employ an applicator.
