Fantasy Lingerie Continues International Expansion

PACOIMA, Calif. - Manufacturer Fantasy Lingerie has announced its expanded distributorships. New territories include Germany, Scandinavia, Turkey, and Greece.

Sean Monahan, national and international sales manager for Fantasy Lingerie, feels that though the primary reason for this success is the look and quality of the line, there are some distinct advantages in the location of their manufacturing facilities which contribute to the increase in this segment.

"Since our primary production takes place in Mexico, our European retailers can take advantage of the favorable exchange rates when importing our garments, thus giving them a little more margin to work with," he said. "Under NAFTA, we're a very favorable resource to retailers in Mexico and Canada as they don't have to face the 20 percent duties and taxes that can be levied on merchandise imported from China."

In all, expansion is key to the company's strategic plan.

"I've worked to triple our international business over the last four years, and these new additions are part of the overall strategic plan to quadruple our international presence by 2009. These new partnerships will help give us exposure in areas where we had limited presence previously and are part of our overall plan to increase international market share," said Monahan.

"In light of the current economic conditions, it made sense to target brand expansion more aggressively into markets that would welcome the economic advantages our line could offer them."

In the company's 30 years of business, Fantasy has also had established distributorships in countries including Australia, France, UK, Spain, and the Middle East.
