AUSTIN—Adult retailer Dreamers and pleasure product manufacturer Evolved Novelties have teamed up to sponsor the seventh annual World Air Sex Championship. Competing in an Air Sex Show is similar to competing in an Air Guitar exposition, except that contestants simulate banging rather than twanging.
“We enjoyed participating last year, and are very excited to be the main sponsor this year,” said Shannon M., head of Dreamers marketing. “We love every opportunity to engage with the people of Austin and show them what we’re all about.”
The championship, held in Austin on December 11, features contestants from various cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Chicago and Washington, D.C. The shows are judged by local comedians and sex shop owners.
The host, Chris Trew, even performs at the start of the show. When Trew appeared on America’s Got Talent to demonstrate Air Sex, no less an authority than Howard Stern called the display “highly offensive.”
This year Dreamers is partnering with Evolved Novelties to showcase their products in the booth. When asked about the decision to team with Evolved, product buyer Andrea C. said, “I personally love Evolved. They have unique, high-quality products that are backed by an incredible warranty.” Dreamers will have a selection of items from Evolved Novelties for Air Sex attendees to try. “Well, not literally try,” Shannon clarified.
The seventh annual Air Sex Championships will be held at The Mohawk in downtown Austin on December 11. Doors open at 8 and the show starts at 9 p.m.
