HOLLYWOOD, Fla.—Mainstream or adult, manufacturers have always relied heavily on trade shows as the best venue to debut their newest products. The pleasure product industry is no exception, and companies traditionally unveiled their latest innovations at the AVN Novelty Expo, which is now part of The AVN Show, making its bow Aug. 5-8 at the Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in Hollywood, Fla.
It should come as no surprise, then, that many of the industry's most inventive manufacturers will be continuing that tradition by introducing their most current designs at The AVN Show—and nowhere else.
"Having long championed the cause of both boutique upstarts and established firms whose designs combine ingenuity and sexual health, AVN and its trade events have justifiably earned the reputation of presenting cutting-edge products you won't find anywhere else," said Tony Lovett, publisher of AVN, and former publisher and editor-in-chief of AVN Novelty Business.
“We have so many companies that are exhibiting exclusively at The AVN Show rather than other trade shows this year,” said Beth Noonan, event project manager for AVN. “They are familiar with our company and the quality trade shows that we produce, and they know they will get the value they have come to expect from AVN.”
Among the more than 30 companies exhibiting exclusively at The AVN Show are Je Joue, OhMiBod, Glow Industries, Joya4U, Sliquid, LoveHoney, Aneros, and Dead Batteries.
OhMiBod already has plans to make a major announcement during The AVN Show about a new partnership that promises to be surprising—and revolutionary.
“I don’t think there has ever been a partnership like this before in our industry,” Suki Dunham, co-founder of OhMiBod, told AVN. “We are really excited about this.”
Also expected to make a splash is Hyper Interactive Media, makers of Prolatis, a male supplement pill. The company, which has long been established in the mainstream market, with its product carried in GNC retail outlets nationwide, is launching its first foray into the adult market, and has chosen The AVN Show to make its debut.
And Aneros—a company that made its name with male prostate massagers—will reveal the Aneros 'ViceT' at The AVN Show. The addition of vibration to the industry-lauded Aneros line has long been awaited by its faithful devotees and retailers alike.
But perhaps the most anticipated event of The AVN Show is the ceremony for the second annual “O” Awards, which will take place Aug. 7 at the Westin Diplomat Report and Spa.
“After the success of last year’s ‘O’ Awards, people are really interested in seeing who is nominated and who will win the coveted awards this year,” said Sherri L. Shaulis, senior editor of pleasure products for AVN. “If you haven’t yet registered to come to the ‘O’ Awards, you are really missing out on a special event.”
The “O” Awards are open to all registered attendees of The AVN Show.
There is still time to register to attend and exhibit at The AVN Show. For more information, visit AVNShow.com, or email [email protected].
