Diablo Cody Hosting Burlesque Show

LOS ANGELES — Oscar-winning screenwriter and former stripper Diablo Cody will host a special burlesque performance tonight, sponsored by PinupGirlClothing.com.

The event starts at 9 p.m. at the newly opened Trader Vic’s at 800 W. Olympic Blvd. in Los Angeles and will benefit Operation Bombshell, a burlesque school for military wives. To celebrate Armed Forces Day, Cody – award-winning screenwriter for Juno and Showtime's “United States of Tara” – will host an evening of burlesque performances by Masuimi Max, La Cholita, and Ms. Redd. The event will honor military families, as well as celebrate the release of Operation Bombshell founder Lily Burana’s memoir I Love A Man In Uniform.

Burana, herself an Army wife, started Operation Bombshell to provide much-needed entertainment and amusement for women whose husbands are deployed in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars. Burana will be on hand tonight to sign copies of her new memoir.

Tickets for the event are $25, and must be purchased in advance at PinupGirlClothing.com/burlesque-events-los-angeles-clubs.html.
