ALBERT LEA, Minn. - A 36-year old novelty shop clerk pleaded guilty in federal court after misusing nearly $360,000 of her employer's money, according to prosecutors.
Amy Lynn Malakowsky, an employee of the company-an adult-novelty business that operates such stores as Pure Pleasure in Stewartville-used close to $360,000 of the company's money to pay off personal credit-card bills. According to a U.S. Attorney's Office news release, Malakowsky made false entries on DiMa's books and records to conceal her misappropriation of funds.
Malakowsky entered the plea to a single count of mail fraud in U.S. District Court after the U.S. Postal Inspection Service concluded its investigation.
A sentencing date for Malakowsky has not been set.
