LOS ANGELES—As the event draws nearer, the excitement continues to build for the second annual “O” awards, which take place this year as part of The AVN Show.
Pre-nominations for products, companies and individuals for the 16 categories will be accepted until the end of the day today, July 1. At that time, a panel of AVN staff members and contributors and industry professionals will cull through the submissions before announcing the final nominees on July 7.
“It’s exciting to see how many people have sent in pre-nominations so far,” said Sherri L. Shaulis, senior editor of AVN’s pleasure products division. “And don’t be shy about sending in more than one pre-nomination. If you think someone or something is truly deserving of consideration for an ‘O’ award, don’t be shy … send us the information. There are some great products and companies that are being considered so far, and I hope everyone is looking forward to the ceremony as much as we here at AVN are.”
The “O” Awards honor outstanding products, companies and professionals in the adult pleasure product industry. The inaugural event, held in 2009 in conjunction with the AVN Novelty Expo (ANE), saw 14 awards handed out to manufacturers, designers, distributors, retailers and individuals for exceptional products and service. This year, AVN Novelty Expo was integrated into The AVN Show, an industry-wide B2B event that incorporates all of the aspects of ANE into an even larger exhibit space. The AVN Show takes place Aug. 5-8 at the Westin Diplomat in Hollywood, Fla., with the 2010 “O” Awards ceremony set for the evening of Aug. 7 at the hotel.
