NEW BOSTON, N.H.—VirtuallyAbout LLC, manufacturer of the Crystal Delights brand of handcrafted and natural erotic toys, has announced the creation of Crystal Causes, a fundraising organization that will support sex-positive communities and organizations.
Shellie Yarnell, creative director of Crystal Delights, explained how the idea for the fundraiser came to be. “Crystal Causes grew out of our passion and commitment to support the community that supports us and our products.,” she said. “We began our business with a mission and a sense of responsibility to always be paying it forward.”
Sixteen sponsors have joined Crystal Causes’ sex-positive charity drive, contributing goods to fill gift baskets that will be used to reward donors.
“We’ve been humbled by the wonderful partners in our industry that have contributed to the gift baskets that are being given away to 12 lucky winners,” Yarnell added.
“Papaya Toys prides itself on social responsibility, and so there was no question when we were asked to participate in Crystal Causes that we would,” stated Pamela McKee, managing partner of Papaya. “This is a cause that is near and dear to so many, and we at Papaya are happy to help in any way we can.”
Seven organizations are being supported. “The list of organizations had been longer, but we discovered that not all charities are interested in support from the adult industry,” Yarnell said. “Though disappointed, we understand why.”
The seven organizations provide services and support to a variety of individuals with personal challenges or needs, and for whom traditional help would not be readily available. “Views on sexuality are changing in this country,” Yarnell said, “but it still has a long way to go. We want to support that effort, as do the wonderful sponsors joining us.”
The adult industry sponsors are donating products and services to fill 12 gift baskets, which will be given away to 12 lucky donors. Each basket has a retail value of more than $1,000. Every time individuals donate to one or more of the sex-positive organizations being supported by the Crystal Causes fund-raising drive, they have a chance at winning one of the baskets.
