LOS ANGELES—Rockit founder Maxx knew his adult novelty creation was something new, something that had never been seen before. He also knew that it could really change things up in the adult market.
Maxx’s creation, The Handie, is a unique device to help men “Upgrade Your Orgasm.” Billed as a one-of-a-kind finishing tool, The Handie is a hand-made silicone glove with a number of unique features to make masturbation better. The glove, which is designed to fit the right hand only, is curved to easily fit around the penis, while a special chamber houses a powerful bullet vibrator. Another chamber holds lubrication, so The Handie is self-lubricating. Also included is an easy-to-clean catcher unit, which makes finishing the job and cleaning up a breeze.
“I really wanted to make something that had never been made before,” Maxx told AVN. “Why make it if it’s not something that is innovating and completely fresh and new? I want to run the opposite of what so many other novelty companies do. And at the end of the day, there are guys out there who will appreciate something different and unique. I think The Handie will help change things up in the industry.”
Maxx said The Handie has been more than three years in the making. Initially, once the design was finalized, he started looking for manufacturers who could take on the job.
“Nobody could figure out how to make it,” Maxx said. “We went back to the drawing board several times after trying to work with several companies, and finally decided that the hand-made method would be the best.”
Rockit has opened its own manufacturing facility to handcraft The Handie.
“I really prefer it this way,” Maxx said. “If there are adjustments or changes that need to be made, we can handle it. And it allows us to build the product and the brand at a rate we want.”
In an effort to do build that brand, the manufacturer is sponsoring a contest among more than 20 of the most popular porn performers to become The Handie Girl.
The women are campaigning on social media to become the face of the male pleasure product. One of the Handie Girl’s main duties will be to show women can co-exist with The Handie.

The Handie is also in the midst of a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo.com. Reward packages are designed to allow supporters first dibs on The Handie upon its release for only $65, $85, or $150 contributions. Supporters of the campaign may also purchase extra votes to help crown The Handie Girl. One hundred votes may be purchased for $100, while 200 votes are only $200.
