ESSEN, Germany—Students at the Adolf Reichwein were expecting a sweet candy treat for their first day of school, but instead were treated to some raunchy images, courtesy of the Communist Party.
Members of the German Communist Party traditionally hand out cones filled with candy to students on their first day of school, but this year the cones also contained pens that projected erotic images of women via a laser.
The pens were purchased from a discount store, Reuters reported,
“The German Communist Party deeply regrets what has happened and is outraged that this kind of thing, which borders on pornography, can be purchased in normal shops,” the Communist Party said in a release.
A number of angry parents who discovered the pens in their 6-year-olds’ possession complained to school authorities, prompting the Communist Party to offer to exchange the pens for a more suitable item, and to investigate whether the store vendors can be prosecuted.
