SAN FRANCISCO—Res Ipsa Gallery and the Center for Sex and Culture proudly present two events the afternoon of Sunday, Feb. 17, both relating to Nick Weber's Broadband, which is on view in the gallery. Broadband is a series of oil paintings inspired by still images that Weber selects from internet porn videos.
Additionally, the organizations will conduct a panel. “Putting a Frame on Shame: Exploring Sexual Content in Fine Art” will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, featuring artist Nick Weber, sexologist Carol Queen and sex and relationship expert Reid Mihalko. Join the group for a thoughtful, revealing and funny conversation about how sex is and isn't depicted in art—and why. The panel event is free.
Also scheduled for 3-5 p.m. Sunday is the workshop “Negotiating Successful Threesomes,” presented jointly by Reid Mihalko and Carol Queen. This is a modified version of a signature Mihalko workshop. Even if you would never be interested in a three-way, this fun-filled and non-threatening class will give you lots of ways to talk to your loved ones about the things you do want in the bedroom—no matter how tame or outrageous!
