CHICAGO—As CatalystCon Prepares a move to the Windy City, organizer Dee Dennis has opened the call for speakers at the event.
“The official Call for Speakers is now open and I am accepting submissions until Nov. 3,” Dennis said.
Created to inspire exceptional conversations about sexuality, CatalystCon features 40 sessions and workshops on topics such as erotica, sex toy history and materials, sex work, and sex positive parenting, as well as live podcast recordings in the CatalystCon Studio.
Described by Dennis as a “melting pot of sexuality,” CatalystCon unites sex educators, sex workers, health advocates, writers, activists, and others with a passion for creating change..
The upcoming installment of the popular event marks the first time it will take place in a location other than Washington, D.C., or Los Angeles.
“With so many requests to bring the conference to the Midwest I have made the decision to skip D.C. in 2016 and host CCon Midwest,” Dennis said.
CatalystCon Midwest will be held at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel April 1-3, 2016.
Dennis also suggest those interested in presenting at CatalystCon Midwest apply to do so now.
“I encourage you to submit more than one session and submit early,” she said. “I receive more than 50 percent of the total speaker submissions within the last 24-48 hours of the cutoff date. At times there are sessions that I feel would be better as a panel or need some edits but I don't have time to go back to you with that feedback when they are sent in at the end.”
