TEMPE, Ariz.—Adult retail chain Castle Megastore has named legendary adult performer Nina Hartley as its resident sexpert. Hartley will be hosting informative sex education classes at the retailers’ locations across the country, which also will be streamed online.
Additionally, Hartley will be tapped to support Castle’s staff training, dubbed Castle University.
Castle Megastore’s announcement comes just two days after the company won AVN’s O Awards for Outstanding Retail Chain of the Year.
“Nina Hartley’s wealth of experience within the adult industry resonates extremely well with our customers and employees. We believe her vast knowledge of various sexual orientations and lifestyles is an amazing fit for Castle,” Castle’s Human Resources Director Adriana Rosales said.
Hartley, an AVN Hall of Fame member and one of the most iconic faces in the history of adult films, has performed for 26 years and counting. She started dancing at the famous Mitchell Bros. O’Farrell Theater in San Francisco while she was a nursing student in the early ’80s.
In addition to holding a degree from San Francisco State University, Hartley also is a registered nurse and a well-known and respected sex educator. She authored Nina Hartley’s Guide to Total Sex and had co-produced her own line of instructional videos, Nina Hartley’s Guides.
Hartley kicked off her speaking series last month at the company’s Phoenix location with a seminar titled Talking Sex.
Castle Megastore, based in Tempe, operates 17 retail stores in Arizona, Alaska, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington.
