Bristols 6 Introduces Nippies

VENICE, Calif.—Dare-to-bare styles rule today’s runway couture, red-carpet gowns and everyday prêt-a-porter. As a result, nip-slip pics have proliferated on tabloid websites. Now, Bristols 6 has introduced Nippies, offering help for starlets and models looking to keep everything covered.

Until now, style-savvy women were hard-pressed to find a sexy, modern undergarment to wear under flesh-baring fashions. This dilemma inspired Bristols 6 founders Christine Benidt and Danielle Beck to develop a range of intimate alternatives and barely-there undergarments that are functional yet aesthetically pleasing. Their 10 years of branding experience in the influential action sports industry helped them create products that are comfortable and cool.

“Most adhesive bras and nipple covers are uncomfortable, wrinkly or unattractive. Not exactly the kind of things you’d want anyone to see you wearing,” said Benidt. “There is so much beautiful lingerie in the market but these items were lacking style. Women want underwear that looks great with or without your clothes on … why should adhesive foundations be the exception? A paper nipple cover just doesn’t cut it under a designer dress or for those special nights out.”

Their first creations, Nippies, are the only nipple covers to be made from real lingerie fabrics such as satin and lace rather than paper or silicone. Nippies are a beautiful mate to a sexy pair of panties. With four shapes and more than 30 different fabrics, from subtle skin tones to sparkly sequins, every woman can find something that suits her style.

Nippies’ tagline—“patch of freedom”—describes the company philosophy on many levels. “Our alternatives feel good for the wearer. Bras have to be the most uncomfortable garment women wear.” Nippies are the only nipple cover to be offered in two sizes and they stretch to form and support a woman’s shape. The larger size can create lift for those who want to increase “perkiness,” and the small size is perfect for women with smaller breasts who may not need the support of a full bra.

With the media eye catching every slip, Nippies are fast becoming the coverage of choice among the celebrity set. Nippies grace the décolletage of Eve, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Taryn Manning, Pink and Pamela Anderson.

“Often stylists call us wanting a specific look for a celebrity, so if someone does see it by accident, it looks like part of the outfit, not something to be embarrassed by,” said Benidt.

Cutting-edge designers have discovered the beauty of Nippies as the perfect accessory to compliment their looks. Hot Los Angeles designer Jenni Kayne commissioned custom pearl Nippies for her Valley of the Dolls-themed Mercedes-Benz L.A. Fashion Week show. Nippies have also appeared on the runway for designers Louis Verdad, Heatherette and Kloz Horse.

Bristols 6’s products can be found online at Bristols6.com and at better boutiques and departments stores worldwide, including Fred Segal in Los Angeles, Talulah G in Las Vegas, and Chantal Thomass and Printemps in Paris.

A two-pair pack of Nippies in coordinating fabrics retails for $16.
