Brisk Business Done During Day 2 of ANE 2016

LAS VEGAS—By the end of the second day of the 2016 AVN Novelty Expo, one thing was clear. Exhibitors were writing orders, and buyers were filling the aisles throughout the day, even lingering after the doors officially closed. Others happily chatted about the contacts they’d made with the distributors at the show, including Eldorado Trading Company, Nalpac and Universal Distributors. In all, it was a feel-good day.

And those exhibitors writing orders and taking meetings were repping a wide array of items to enhance and intensify both sexual andsensual experiences.

In addition to manufacturers offering a broad spectrum of products, such as Shots America, Joydivision and Curve Novelties, a number of exhibitors were new to the marketplace and looking to make a mark.

Making a foray into pleasure toys is another studio: Jules Jordan Video. Given that the studio is a stickler for glossy, high-end adult entertainment, it’s not surprising to see the same approach in toys. Named Clandestine Devices, the new company debuted with the Mimic, a clitoral stimulator offered in three colors with eight vibration settings. Director of Sales Kimberly Faubel expressed pleasure at interest in the product, noting that in addition to the meetings she had set up through AVN’s VIBE program, she was also getting a lot of inquiries from those walking the show floor.

Another veteran name in adult, Channel 1 Releasing, showed its Rascal Toys line of realistic cocks, cast from gay adult stars. And it also had a display for its new Boneyard line, with graduated silicone cock rings packaged individual or in packs of five, and available in gray or black. The logo and the line’s motto, “Bone for Life,” gives it a fun biker vibe, and the rings are designed to be roll-resistant and easy to use for fans of stacking.

As with every show, numerous exhibitors offered formulas to enhance performance. Taking a leap into the enhancement market is gay adult company Oh Man Studios, whose Oh Baby! Natural Formula powers better performance for a week. The chemist was at the booth, and he shared one ingredient: an ultra-high-grade Korean ginseng. Oh Man also has a new silicone-based lubricant called Ruff.

Using another delivery device for herbal invigoration is Sheen Famous, with its BZestful brand of coffee. The herbal product—designed to help men increase their potency with a formula that includes Malaysian ginseng, maca and guarana—is already selling in six different countries: China, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines.

Overseas toy manufacturers could also be found at ANE, both European and Asian. Nomi Tang, creator of the award-winning Better Than Chocolate, picked up a new award during ANE when its Spotty won an “O” Award for Best Product for Men. Tokyo Designs brought collections under the Kawaii brand name—which means cute in Japanese. And indeed, these vibes shaped like French macaron confections were adorable, as were the Daisuki (“I love you”) modified rabbit vibes, with rotating ticklers tipped in silicon nubs.

French company Dreamdolls brought several lifesize dolls, made of pliable, fleshly silicone with careful detailing throughout the entire body and not just key areas like the face and genitals. A high-end purchase, the doll is completely customizable—as evidence by the model designed to resemble French porn star Jessyca Wilson.

Also a hit during Day 2 of ANE were the seminars One Size Doesn't Fit All: Selling To Every Body and For Women Only, a closed-door session for women from all sectors of the industry.
