Boy George Faces Kinky Sex Charges

NEW YORK - The New York Daily News has reported in its Gossip section that Boy George, former lead singer of 80's pop band Culture Club, was called before a London judge last Thursday facing charges stemming from a kinky sexual encounter.

Boy George, whose real name is George O'Dowd, was ordered to stand trial for charges of false imprisonment after Norwegian man, Auden Karlsen, claimed the singer handcuffed him to a bed and threatened him with sex toys.

Karlsen claimed he was lured to the entertainer's apartment to pose for photos after the two met on Gaydar.com. Upon arrival, instead of receiving the $840 agreed upon, Karlsen claimed O'Dowd produced a box of whips and sex toys and threatened him with them.

"I was convinced I was going to die," he told the Daily Mail of London. Karlsen denied reports that he is a male prostitute.

If convicted, the 80's icon could be sentenced to life in prison. He was ordered to return to court in February 2008.
