LOS ANGELES - Seasoned and novice practitioners of BDSM can come together and learn from the staff of Stockroom through Stockroom University.
Stockroom University is a series of workshops - taught by Stockroom/Syren staffers and other sexuality pros - that highlight a variety of BDSM areas. Workshops are slated at Stockroom's Los Angeles store and the Stormy Leather retail store in San Francisco. The workshops are open to anyone.
"Above all, Stockroom U gives our staff a wonderful opportunity to personally connect with member of the local BDSM community," said Casey O'Connell, marketing coordinator for Stockroom.com.
The first session, slated for 6-9 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at the Stockroom store in Silverlake (2809½ Sunset Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90026) is a series of mini-workshops that touch on a "healthy range of topics, and is geared toward all levels of players," O'Connell said.
Areas of discussion for the evening include BDSM basics (collars, cuffs, etc.), latex fashion and care, and electrostimulation.
The initial workshop is free, O'Connell said, while future sessions will ask for a cost at the door. Also, the first 20 attendees at Sunday's event will receive a special gift, and light refreshments will be served.

"Shock and Awe: Beyond Beginning Electrical" is the next Stockroom University session, and is scheduled for 7:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19, at Stormy Leather Retail, 1158 Howard St., San Francisco. Daddy Darin, who has been involved in the leather lifestyle since October 1984, will offer instruction in safe electrical play by featuring multiple electro-sex units.
Admission is $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. Stormy Leather will offer 10 percent off all electrical gear to attendees.

Renowned sex educator Midori will lead "Art of Feminine Dominance I" from 7:30-10:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at Stockroom's Sunset Boulevard location.
The session is open to anyone, and will teach how to be dominant without being a bitch. Midori, author of "The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage" and "Wild Side Sex," will discuss the psychology, politics, practical exercises, techniques, and fashion of dominance.
