Babeland Relocates Los Angeles Store

LOS ANGELES - Adult retail chain Babeland will celebrate the grand opening of its newly relocated Los Angeles store this weekend with events and in-store workshops.

The store, formerly located on Melrose Avenue, will share retail space with apparel store Pull My Daisy at 3908 Sunset Blvd.

Babeland co-founder Rachel Venning told AVN Novelty Business that Pull My Daisy has been in the location for several years and has a similar customer demographic. She said this will allow the stores to cross-pollinate their clientele.

"The Melrose store closed a couple of weeks ago," she said. "Our lease was up in the space, and the store wasn't an excellent performer. As a company, Babeland wants to hit the ball out of the park, so we decided to try this new location on the east side of town with Pull My Daisy."

Venning said she just happened to hit it off with the owner of Pull My Daisy while in the area scouting a new retail spot. Furthermore, Venning told ANB that as a company, Babeland recently launched a wholesale division with plans to begin partnering with non-sex toy companies. The partnership with Pull My Daisy will act as a  jumping off point to see how this plan goes.

"She has a really large store that wasn't super-full of merchandise," she added. "So I thought it would be a really great deal to share operating expenses. We wouldn't really be competing with each other. It would just be adding more options for the same customers. After meeting her in person, I just felt like the vibe was right and the move made sense for us.

"It's going to be the same kind of retailing our customers have become accustomed to, just in a better location!"

The new Babeland/Pull My Daisy store is open now but will celebrate its grand opening this weekend with a "Big O Workshop," "Kinky Crafts Event," and "Sex Educator Salon."
