LAS VEGAS – Babeland, the feminist erotica retailer, introduced the Sa Si, an innovative, hi-tech vibrator, at a crowded party in a Venetian hotel suite last night.
The suite was packed with sex-positive feminists who marveled over the sleek, ergonomic sex toy, which fits into the palm of a hand and can be customized to the sensual preferences of its user.
A buzzing ball beneath a silicone membrane provides clitoral stimulation and can be programmed for a range of movements, according to its young English designer Chris Glaister.
"The more you use it, the more it remembers the movements you like," he said, adding that when he was working on the design, "I got a lot of input from girls."
Babeland has exclusive U.S. distribution rights for the Sa Si, which will go on sale in March, according to company rep Alicia Relles.
Guest of honor at the party was Tristan Taormino, one of the most prominent feminists working in adult. She brought along actors Christian and Derrick Pierce, from her latest Vivid release Chemistry 3. Also on hand was actress Adrianna Nicole, who appears in Taormino's Expert Guide to Anal Sex.
Taormino revealed that she used to work at one of Babeland's New York stores about ten years ago, and said, "I have a good relationship with Babeland. They've always supported my work."
And yes, she does plan to use the Sa Si in one of her upcoming Vivid projects.
Other guests included sex educator Jayme Waxman, who's giving a round of seminars today at AEE; Nina Hartley and partner Ernest Greene; Kat Sunlove and Layne Winkelbeck, consultants for Abbywinters.com; director Roy Karch, and others.
