Babeland Hosts 'Sexy Mamas Night Out'

SEATTLE - Adult retailer Babeland will host a "Sexy Mamas' Night Out" at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at its store at 707 E. Pike St. in Seattle.

The free event will feature a panel of "savvy moms," including Babeland sex educator Shannon, tantra instructor Lizz Randall, and psychologist Leslie Butterfield.

Babeland said the panel will help attendees get back in touch with their sexy selves by sharing tips on "rekindling desire, embracing your mom body, and creating time for yourself."

The night will also include facials, mini-massages, refreshments, and snacks.

Babeland also has launched its "Sexy Mama Blog Event," where bloggers will write about their sex-positive experiences. Each week will have a new theme and a new spin from each writer. Participating blogs include Blog.Babeland.com, JanesGuide.com, Always Aroused Girl, Single Mom Seeking, Christen Clifford, and Urban Gypsy.

Marketing Coordinator Mae Schultz, who has put together the "Sexy Mamas' Night Out," said the blog event is open to any sex-positive parent who has a blog or website.

"We have weekly themes that I send out to our writers, as well as different products to write reviews about," she said. "Each blogger links to our ‘Sexy Mamas' page, and, in turn, we link to them. I'm encouraging all of our bloggers to post comments on each other's pages, so we can have actual conversations in a web format which uses pictures, videos, and links to other parenting sites."

Pamela Doan, Babeland's public-relations representative, told AVN Novelty Business the idea was inspired by the book Sexy Mamas by Marketing Director Anne Semans.

"Both Rachel and Claire, founders of Babeland, are moms, too," Doan said. "It's an issue that's important to all the leaders of the company and really fits with Babeland's mission. In addition, we're starting a monthly mom discussion group at the new store in Brooklyn in June, led by Claire. We'll invite prominent sex-positive moms to participate and have a different topic each month, similar to the weekly topics that we have for the blog."
