CHATSWORTH, Calif. - The AVN Novelty Expo, the novelty industry's premier B2B event, will be held at the Sheraton Universal and Hilton Los Angeles in Universal City, Calif., July 13-15, 2009. The annual convention brings together qualified buyers with manufacturers of pleasure enhancement products.
For more than a decade, hundreds of qualified buyers from around the world have gathered for this premier buyers' conference and exhibition, where manufacturers debut new products and buyers make their most important purchasing decisions of the year. The buyer base includes distributors, retailers, exporters, mail order companies, large home party organizers, and individuals or companies involved in large volume purchases. Exhibitors range from entrepreneurs offering one or two specialized items, to premier manufacturers who offer a vast array of traditional favorites and cutting-edge designs from around the world.
Based on a recent customer survey conducted by AVN Media Network, several format changes will be implemented for the 2009 expo. The format of the upcoming expo has been adapted to better address the needs of a wider range of industry professionals. The show will be expanded to three days; the networking opportunities will be significantly expanded through special events; the educational seminars will be enhanced to address current economic challenges; and the focus on boutique and mid-level manufacturers will be greater than ever before.
"We are making format adjustments to ‘give our customers what they want,'" said Renee Johnson, senior show manager for AVN Media Network. "We have strong relationships with our customers, and it has been AVN's practice since day one to deliver on our customers' requirements. Our attendees and exhibitors wanted to stay at Universal City, and they wanted more opportunities to discuss business."
All projections for the adult manufacturing industry indicate that the market is strong. In addition, the number of high-end manufacturers and boutique retail outlets have grown substantially over the past two years. "Again and again, buyers tell me they come to ANE to see the new, quality products from unique manufacturers, products that appeal to their growing client base of health-conscious women and couples looking for something beyond the usual mass-marketed products." said Tony Lovett, publisher of AVN Novelty Business. "This market continues to grow and evolve, and I am optimistic when I see retailers strive to sustain that growth by carrying a diversity of brands that attract a new wave of educated consumers."
