LAS VEGAS—OhMiBod, manufacturer of MP3 compatible pleasure products, is one of the exhibitors scheduled to participate in the first-ever Luxury Boutique at this year’s AVN Novelty Expo.
Scheduled for Sept. 10-12 at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, and co-located with the International Lingerie Show, ANE is the novelty industry's premier B2B event. For years, hundreds of qualified buyers from around the world have gathered for this pleasure product conference and exhibition, where manufacturers debut new items and buyers make their most important purchasing decisions of the year.
This year, the addition of a Luxury Boutique—a new space on the show floor where manufacturers who specialize in high-end products will offer buyers the experience of browsing in an exclusive shop—is a major step in a new direction for the show and participating manufacturers. The Luxury Boutique is sponsored by Je Joue, a manufacturer of award-winning pleasure products, including the G-Ki and the Ami.
“We have been really busy over at OhMiBod this past year,” said Suki Dunham, co-founder of OhMiBod. “We are excited to report that one of our biggest highlights was bringing on Pamela Luu as our director of sales. Pamela has been doing an amazing job training and supporting customers this year, both for our OhMiBod and Bedroom Kandi brands. On the business front, OhMiBod this year launched an entirely new brand, Bedroom Kandi in partnership with Kandi Burruss, Grammy-winning singer and songwriter and one of the stars of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta.
“Since our launch, we are happy to report that we have exposed millions of mainstream Americans to that idea that pleasure products can be sophisticated and fun,” Dunham said. “Many of us are striving to remove the social stigma around toys and this moves us all just that one step closer. We are also proud that the Bedroom Kandi line was named Best Sex Toy Line 2012 by AVN and that several of our products in both the Bedroom Kandi and OhMiBod line have been nominated for the ‘O’ Awards.”
But those successes don’t mean the team at OhMiBod is resting on its laurels.
“We have some exciting things we are working on, both on the design and technology fronts.,” Dunham said. “Keep your eyes peeled in early 2013 for some brand new product releases that will be the first of their kind.”
OhMiBod will be on the ANE show floor in the Luxury Boutique. The Luxury Boutique will be particularly effective in giving lingerie and apparel buyers a visual representation of how pleasure products can be displayed in their retail spaces. Buyers who might not have considered stocking pleasure products before will find many high-quality yet affordable brands that would fit in with their current inventory.
