LAS VEGAS - Coquette International celebrated its 30th anniversary with a party during the International Lingerie Show at the Rio Hotel, while AVN Novelty Business honored the company with a special presentation.
ANB Publisher Tony Lovett presented a plaque commemorating the milestone to Marcus Horea, vice president of sales and marketing for Coquette, during the show Tuesday.
Horea said the family business started out providing sexy, erotic lingerie, but then broke into the world of costumes.
"I'd say it's only been in the past 10 years, and especially in the past five years, that we have really made strides in that market," Horea said. Today, he noted, almost 50 percent of the company's revenues comes from its 130 costumes.
The key to the company's success and longevity, Horea said, is the strong relationships built through the years.
"We really listen to what our customers want and what they have to say," he said. An example, he noted, is the new box line Signature Collection, which features packaging that can stand on a shelf or hang from a hook, and that boasts classy styles and affordable price points.
"The Signature Collection has been our best seller at this show," he said.
