AUSTRALIA - Although the season is over, the games are still in full effect for Brendan Fevola, an Australian Football League player.
The AFL is receiving heavy heat after one of its star players paraded outside a city bar during a "Mad Mondays" session wearing a pink hat and nightgown complimented by a prosthetic penis protruding through his pants.
The wicked frolics of the 27 year-old Carlton FC goalstriker are not sitting well with the league or city officials.
"The (players) behavior is inappropriate," said Victoria Premier John Brumby in a published report. "You expect footballers to have a bit of fun and let off a bit of steam at the end of the year but you don't expect them to parade around Federation Square in public the way these footballers were."
One witness said: "Fev had a foot-long dildo hanging out of his pink muumuu in full public view outside the bar. I saw him hit a couple of girls on the head with it. It was a bit off-putting."
Fevola's post-game recap? "They'd better work out how to spell my name," pointing to a typo in the AFL's initial statement. He did not comment further.
Over the years, Fevola has been documented for his temperamental behavior, ranging from urinating on bar windows, assaulting bartenders and hosing down a female college student with a fire extinguisher.
Fevola was recently signed to a three-year deal worth close to $750,000, largely for his 486 career goals.
